Holden glass

The brand stopped in 2020. The cars didn't.

Holden closed its doors in 2020, and owners are often told that makes parts hard to get. For glass, that isn't really true. Commodore, Colorado, Captiva and Astra windscreens are still produced in volume by aftermarket manufacturers because there are so many of these cars on the road.

Older Commodores are among the most straightforward replacements we do. No cameras, no sensors, no calibration — just a clean cut-out, a proper prep and a correctly bonded screen. That usually makes them one of the cheaper jobs on our books too.

The later ZB Commodore and Astra are a different proposition. Both were sold with forward-facing camera systems for lane keeping and forward collision alert, so those need recalibrating after a replacement in exactly the same way a current model would.

What we watch for

Fitting glass to a Holden

The details that separate a replacement done properly from one you'll be back about.

Glass is still readily available

Discontinued badge, plentiful glass. Quality aftermarket screens meeting AS/NZS 2080 are made in volume for the popular Holden models and we hold the common ones.

Older models, simpler jobs

Pre-camera Commodores and Colorados need no calibration, which keeps both the price and the time off the road down.

Rust checked at the pinch weld

On older vehicles the bonding flange is where corrosion hides. We check it when the old screen comes out and tell you straight if it needs attention before the new glass goes in.
