It uses a forward camera at the top of the windscreen — paired with a radar unit on many models — to run pre-collision braking, lane departure alert and dynamic radar cruise control. The camera needs recalibrating whenever the glass is replaced.
The HiLux is the ute we see more than any other. Work sites, gravel roads and highway trucks put chips in them constantly, and a chip caught early is a 15 to 30 minute repair rather than a full replacement. Don't leave it through a hot week.
