The glass is only half the job on a modern Audi.
Audi windscreens are rarely just a sheet of laminated glass. Acoustic interlayers, solar coatings, sensor housings and head-up display wedges all change which part number your car actually takes, and fitting the wrong one is something you notice every time you drive.
Acoustic laminated glass is fitted across much of the A4, A6 and Q range. It uses a sound-damping interlayer that noticeably cuts road roar at highway speed. Substitute plain laminated glass and the car passes every safety check but sounds wrong — a difference most owners pick up within a week. We quote acoustic glass where the vehicle came with it.
If your Audi has a head-up display, the windscreen carries a specially shaped interlayer that keeps the projected image from ghosting. That glass is not interchangeable with the standard screen. We check the build before ordering rather than after removing your old one.
Audi pre sense relies on a camera reading the road through your windscreen. We recalibrate it as part of the replacement, using Hella, Autel and TEXA equipment, and give you the report.
