i-Activsense uses a forward sensing camera at the top of the windscreen for lane departure warning, smart brake support and radar cruise support. Like every camera-based system it reads the road through the glass, so a replacement means a recalibration.
Mazda also mounts the rain sensor to the windscreen with an optical gel pad. It's a single-use item — reusing a stretched or contaminated pad is the usual reason wipers start behaving strangely a couple of weeks after a cheap replacement. We fit a new one.
Mazda i-Activsense relies on a camera reading the road through your windscreen. We recalibrate it as part of the replacement, using Hella, Autel and TEXA equipment, and give you the report.
